DTU is a self-governing university that covers most engineering disciplines and educates engineers at the Bachelor, Master and PhD levels.

The University has approximately 900 researchers, 6,000 students, 600 PhD students and 400 international students a year in English-language programmers. In addition, we offer a comprehensive continuing education programme.
With activities in, among other areas, biotechnology, communications technology and nanotechnology, DTU has a high international standard within the technical-natural sciences, based on 15 individual departments as well as a number of research centers on campus in Lyngby, north of Copenhagen.
DTU houses a coherent innovation system that stretches from research and teaching to patents and licensing, industrial collaboration and science park activities.
DTU’s mission is to contribute to value creation in society on a sustainable foundation: through collaboration on R&D activities with private enterprises; through applications for patents and establishment of new enterprises and through the University’s education of Master’s students and young, new researchers. 

At the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) we offer ten full time 2-year International Master of Science Programmes: Environmental Engineering Computer Systems Engineering Computing and Mathematics Electronics Telecommunications Electromagnetic Systems Engineering Acoustics Biotechnology Petroleum Engineering Wind Energy DTU is one of the leading technical universities in Northern Europe, with more than 150 years experience in high level research and education. The university is characterised by having an international environment with students and researchers from all over the world, and a large number of courses and programmes taught in English. DTU is located only 10 kilometres from Denmark’s beautiful capital Copenhagen, within a region of significant cultural and historical inheritance. Tuition fees for the programmes of approximately USD 8.500 per year are covered by the Danish government. Living expenses of approximately USD 600 per month are to be covered by the students themselves. Important dates for the programmes starting the last week of August 2002: March 1, 2002: application deadline for all programmes except Computer Systems Engineering May 1, 2002: application deadline for Computer Systems Engineering Last week of August: induction course First week of September: start of M.Sc. programmes Please note: we recommend early application as the number of places on the programmes are limited. Applicants for the programmes are selected by the results of their former study (at least a B.Sc. or equivalent), the scientific level of their diploma and their English language proficiency.
